My name's Adam Chapman and I'm a multidisciplinary artist from Maine. I've never been to art school, I have a social work degree, and I work a day job. I've been compulsively doodling in the margins of my notebooks since I was a kid, but I've only recently started putting significant effort into the study and creation of drawings and paintings.
I prefer surrealism and I'm mainly influenced by the works of Hieronymous Bosch, Max Ernst, Salvador Dali, and Francis Bacon. I occasionally create realistic works, but I mainly do this for practice. I like to learn the rules of art so that I know exactly how to break them in future works. I mostly enjoy making art when I go into it with no plan for how I want it to look.
I'm launching this shop because I want to make more art! I would love to be able to spend more time doing this. I want to make bigger, cooler, weirder stuff to share with the world. I firmly believe that art should affordable for everyone. Although my original paintings are a bit pricier, it doesn't take much work to make prints, so I don't charge nearly as much for those. I do commissions on occasion, but I generally prefer to stick to my own style. If you like what you see, feel free to support me however you can! Even a quick follow on my instagram helps.
